TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 2d Saw IV continues the brutal energy of the franchise by blending gore, horror, and psychological torment into another intense chapter. What makes this film work is that it doesn’t just rely on blood and shock value. It also creates a deeply uncomfortable atmosphere that makes the audience feel trapped right alongside the characters. The movie brings back that vulnerable feeling the series is known for, where every trap feels horrifying because you can imagine yourself in those situations. That is what gives it such a disturbing edge. Tobin Bell once again delivers a strong performance, keeping Jigsaw compelling and giving the story weight beyond just the violence. His presence is a huge reason why the franchise continues to work. It may not be the best entry in the series, but it is still a solid and effective horror sequel that keeps the fear and brutality alive. They should have stopped at three. The story is weak and ridiculous even for a Saw movie. Acting not very good. The only positive outside of the traps/gore was seeing flashbacks to Jigsaws past. Hopefully the back half of this franchise gets better.
