Critics Consensus

Seven Snipers generates strong tension with efficient direction and sustained bursts of action though its implausible plotting keeps it firmly grounded as a slick genre exercise.

If you want a lecture or moral posturing, then this film is not for you. If you want a quietly accomplished thriller that delivers with discipline, strap in. Go to Full Review

Lotta sound and fury (not just the gunfire, but Mike Forst’s "I Heart Hans Zimmer" score), but not much signifying. Go to Full Review

Sciberras’ direction keeps you in the picture, enabling you to keep track of the damage and effecting a rise in your pulse rate. The script even finds time for some human interest...but none of it is enough to eclipse the plot’s basic implausibility. Go to Full Review
Carla Hay Culture Mix Aug 24, 2026
A low-quality and ludicrous action flick about a former elite sniper, whose past comes back to haunt her when she and her teenage daughter are targeted at their remote Australian farm. It's a bunch of repetitive shootouts with a stupid ending. Go to Full Review

While it’s hard to miss the lack of depth and detail in both the characters and the overall conflict, there’s something refreshing about its simplicity and straightforwardness. Go to Full Review

In an attempt to keep the film simple and straightforward, [Sandra] Sciberras has omitted too much: The viewer needs more details about the prior encounter between Kris and The Dragon. Go to Full Review

Smokin A @SmokinAsh 22 hrs ago I wish people that make reviews of not too good - that they would try to make a movie like this. We have a bunch of armchair quarterbacks sitting around critiquing these types of movies, all the while never really investing themselves. This movie was a very taunt thriller. Tim Ross was exceptional as the Dragon. And Radha Mitchell was exemplary and how she carried herself. The flashbacks were perfectly placed. And the daughter really came into her own after losing her boyfriend to the gun shot of the Dragon. I have always wondered and been puzzled by how movies are rated. Ones that are rated very high are sometimes not well done. And one's rated very low are sometimes exceptional. We as a nation need to repent. We are strayed far from God and how he sees things in all of this. See more NR D @NRD2845 2 days ago My deepest gratitude goes to those who invented "fast forward" technology. Without your invention, I would have shut this so-called "movie" off, but instead I got to the most ridiculous end I may have ever seen. I gave this two stars: one because they actually made a movie, and two because I was stupid enough to waste 30 minutes of my life on it, and that was my fault, not theirs. See more Robbie K @RT64009748 Sep 28, 2026 I’m staggered this movie is sitting on a 64% rating. Potentially the worst Australian Movie of all time. No storyline, cringey acting, do not waste your time. See more Mac Ryan Chris Z @RT74799190 Sep 28, 2026 I stopped watching this movie and literally closed it out of frustration. The scene that killed it for me was when the mother and daughter—the MAIN TARGETS—were casually chilling in an open field, completely exposed, while the sniper was already tracking them. Seriously… WHAT THE HELL? 😂 The sniper had an easy shot, yet the movie basically says, "Nope, not yet." There was no convincing reason for it. They were practically volunteering to be killed. I can forgive a lot in an action movie, but I can't take a sniper movie seriously when the characters behave like they have absolutely no survival instincts. At that point, I completely lost interest. I didn't even care how the movie ended. I just closed it. Honestly, I feel like I wasted my time watching this. 😑 See more Craig 2 @RT77759710 Sep 22, 2026 64% on Rotten Tomatoes- how the hell did it rate so high?. I have never served, but I like to think I have some intelligence when it comes to tactical awareness, which none of the characters had. Sitting near open windows, sitting near open windows with their rifles pointing out a window, running across open terrain, no use of smoke etc for cover. Not relocating after shooting, not remaining still and only shooting when the optimal shot can be taken, as to not reveal your location. No body armour & head shots? Centre mass, I thought, was the better option as it's a bigger target; then we have the Mexican standoff at the end with a broken scope, my god. I cant believe movies like this are given the green light for distribution. See more Paul B @PaulBallarin Sep 22, 2026 Any one who has been in the military will cringe at the bush craft of these supposed snipers. See more Read all reviews
