The film has a clever dodge for avoiding the inevitable silly moment when the aliens are revealed but, in a few too many scenes, this is a bit more snore than awe. Go to Full Review

It is a fantasy, but it’s more confrontational than escapist. It doesn’t want us to turn our brains off. It wants us to think. Go to Full Review

Other cerebral sci-fi films such as Contact or Arrival may have already answered some of the questions posed here - and with a much higher budget - but this is still an intriguing contemplation. Go to Full Review

Consisting mostly of rocket scientist conversations about astrophysics, 'Signal One' is nevertheless far more intriguing than anything in 'Disclosure Day.' Go to Full Review

It’s fascinating to see how low-budget science fiction explores more obscure and interesting stories than blockbusters like the recently released Disclosure Day. Go to Full Review
Charles Johnston Spectrum Culture Jun 8, 2026
A trippy, eccentric sci-fi film, more thought-provoking than entertaining, that eschews easy tropes to deliver upon its urgent message as clearly as possible. Go to Full Review

James L @Jag87Up 19 hrs ago Trust the people who have watched it NOT the professional reviews. This is fluff disguised as something deeper. SLOW, inane writing/conversations. It is super boring of the four of us I was the only one who did not fall asleep. Outstanding actors/actresses horrible script. Love all the people in it and they are not to blame, they did fantastic but could not save this train wreck. Art-house nonsense. The talk of quantum mechanics was not well grounded in actual science. See more Moody C @MoodyC 5 days ago Really low budget sci fi. Not much happens & CG is so bad, you prolly seen better on YouTube. It's about communicating with aliens but there are obviously better ones like Close Encounters & Arrival. Waste of time, total skip. See more Noah H @Noah85 Oct 1, 2026 Well, this was a waste of time. It felt like a complete Contact knock off. The characters were so lame, and they swore way too much for a PG 13 movie. I’m sorry, but I just didn’t enjoy this. Watch Contact instead. It’s a whole lot better than this pile of garbage. The only reason I’m giving this 3/10 is because the morph cloaking effect at the end was actually pretty cool. See more Donny W @DonnyBlanco Sep 19, 2026 If you enjoy sci fi, this is a must watch. Lesser than Contact or Arrival, but a good moral dilemma. See more Aye E @RT43717499 Sep 8, 2026 "Inert and without humanity" But as the Gute says "no risk, no reward!". (jkjk) Jokes aside it wasn't bad, and was an interesting concept but felt underdeveloped and rushed. Could've been a cool limited series if the characters back stories were more developed and the science was a bit more fleshed out, and paced out. It already had the production quality of an TV show. The government and military reaction didn't feel believable, kind of had a removed, non-mencacing obstacle, like in old Twilight Zone episodes and 50s Sci-fi. Yeah, they can show up with the military and interrogate them, but why didn't they put the billionaire in custody in the first place? Why was it taking so long to get other scientists there? And in all of that interrogation the lead still has time to put her mascara on. See more L J @Cracky Sep 7, 2026 Excellent movie! Very thought provoking! See more Read all reviews
