We trusted you Rotten Tomatoes. We trusted your guidance, your ratings. Then we clicked watch this film because of your 72% approval. The reviewers must have been paid. This was so bad we signed up for an account and named ourselves SignificantOtherEw to prove a point. This is the worst plot imaginable. Directors/Writers Dan Berk and Robert Olsen must have so much family money they were actually able to piece this "film" together by simply writing checks. Any human with any artistic integrity would have walked away from this film unless there was some move up opportunity involved. Hopefully, they found those brighter pastures after what they went through being on this crew. We watched the credits just to see the poor souls that were tortured making this film. You all deserved better. That being said: Cinematography is INCREDIBLE. Matt Mitchell deserves a holiday for doing the work he did. Matt, if you read this, you deserve a parade!

Not all movies are for everyone, but the low ratings for this movie could not be more wrong. The acting was good, pacing was good, and it was entertaining. Many reviews seem to be written by people that missed the first opening scene of the movie or when into this expecting something completely different than it was. Honestly, it seems like the negative reviews were written by people who didn’t even watch the movie, bc some people thought the aliens were a “plot twist” despite being featured in the first 30 seconds of the film. Give this film a shot if you like sci-fi/thriller/mysteries.

Went in blind and really enjoyed it. It will vary greatly based on taste, but if you like scifi and thrillers its a pretty fresh movie. Worth a watch.

It's too bad that this movie was a creature flick because Significant Other has a ton of potential as a movie about a relationship that catastrophically breaks down while in the wilderness. You can't help but feeling that they took the easy way out.
