In the summer before starting high school, Julie (Alexa Vega) and her best friends, Hannah (Mika Boorem), Yancy (Kallie Flynn Childress) and Farrah (Scout Taylor-Compton), have a slumber party. They decide they're going to use the night to shed their nerdy reputations, and they end up in a scavenger hunt against a group of popular girls. Critics Consensus

'Tween girls will enjoy this sugar coated fluff, but others will find Sleepover a snooze.

Sleepover objectifies early teenage girls in a manner that's disagreeable and indelicate at best, cheap and vulgar at worst.

Not for younger kids, despite its PG rating.

Nussbaum's attempt to capture the 'tween zeitgeist fails: The Spice Girls-infused soundtrack is dated, and the feel-good progressiveness forced.

Little more than a hurried photocopy of the far superior Lindsay Lohan vehicle Mean Girls.

Utterly harmless but also utterly forgettable, Sleepover is only fascinating when it comes to poring over its cast list years down the road: Steve Carell, Brie Larson, and more.

Fun movie of young ladies coming of age from age. From Jr high adolescence to High School teens finding their place in the hierarchy of their school. Love the silliness. Only scene questionable is the shower scene she gets trapped in the bathroom as her crush prepares to get into the shower. Then leaves the room before getting in to talk to his friend.

The acting wasn’t the best at all. It was a hard watch and stereotypical too. I really didn’t enjoy it and my little sister didn’t enjoy it either. Even my mother who likes almost any movie didn’t like it. Don’t recommend.

Pretty sure a team of people watched every teen, tween, coming of age, 20-something and rom com movie, then wrote down every cliche and turned them into a movie with a cheesy plot and average acting... then called it 'sleepover'. 🤦‍♀️
