Marius R @RT12940373 1d Not exactly a masterpiece, but not every movie has to keep you clapping every second of it. It does the job it's supposed to do, entertain and tell a decent story. The CGI is good, the story is decent, felt a bit rushed at the end, I think Morgana should have had a bit more screen time, and the acting feels like it was a let down a few scenes, but honestly it's a story about a young guy going through a lot of weird stuff, so Baruchel did well with that. All in all a very good choice if you're tired of overly serious movies and/or want some more magic in a setting different than Harry Potters world that still holds up where it matters. It meets the expectations one would have for a film of this genre and style. Campy at times with basic continuity issues that compound the lack of depth, but fun nonetheless. The pacing went helter-skelter halfway through, and I believe the potential for a new franchise fell away with it.  I enjoyed Nicholas Cage and Jay Baruchel’s chemistry, as did the children watching. Sorcerer’s Apprentice remains a choice for them, which is what matters. See more Tj B @RT77549479 Jul 23 Honestly the movie itself has a lot of potential. For its time the cgi is fine. The acting is ok with Alfred Molina being the absolute stand out. If the magic could have been fleshed out more I think this could have worked. Theres a lot of focus on a love story where I think the action and world building should’ve been focused on more. The final battle consists of Jay using a generic kamehameha when it should’ve been a magic spectacle. Again their was a lot of potential with what was here but the execution didn’t hit. The movie presented a really fun and enchanting adventure, with amazing visuals and mesmerizing lore to leave you hooked. I'd definitely put this in the same league as the Harry Potter films, even though it wasn't as successful. I definitely recommend it for action, adventure, and fantasy fans! O roteiro é muito bom, os efeitos especiais são incríveis para a época e aimda dão surra em muito filme atual, o elenco é ótimo e o principal: o filme tem identidade. Nd de magias genéricas de raios e fios de poder, estilo dr. Estranho e feiticeira escarlate da marvel (nd contra isso), mas as magias aqui são unicas, bem pensadas e criativas, levam o nome "magia" a sério. É um filme muito bom de se ver em família e entrar num mundo incrível de fantasia a seu próprio modo. Sou suspeito a falar, pois assisti esse filme diversas vezes na sessão da tarde quando criança, ent tem muito gosto de infância isso tudo. Mas realmente n vejo onde esse filme tanto peca, e n sou um crítico renomado, mas sempre gostei de cinema e de acompanhar lançamentos e premiações há alguns anos e sei reconhecer um bom filme.
