None of this is remotely credible, or particularly suspenseful. But it is handled with reasonable aplomb by director Kate Dolan and her cast, who do their best to elevate material that can only be raised so far. Go to Full Review

The movie is more watchable than you might expect, and the cast is appealing. But one of its issues is the amount of plot overlap with last year’s Companion, a sharper satirical jab at toxic relationships and technophobia. Go to Full Review

Let [this film] serve as a reminder to film executives everywhere: Not every sleeper hit needs to become an unofficial trilogy. Go to Full Review

Dolan's film lightly asks the same questions about female autonomy with an avatar and tech intrusions into our everyday lives, albeit not with definitiveness, but with hesitation. Go to Full Review

It’s a solid science fiction tale, although it suffers from an unremarkable plot that lacks surprise and an ending that entirely misses the mark. I wouldn’t have been surprised if the original goal was to have M3GAN appear in a post-credits sequence. Go to Full Review

Here’s a movie that recognizes the hollowness and potential danger of living your life through artificial relationships. That it’s packaged in an entertaining B-movie that makes for a fun late-night watch is even better. Go to Full Review

LAA A @LAA84 1d I just finished watching Soulm8te, a film about AI evolving to become more human-like. Honestly, this idea has been done to death lately, and the movie doesn’t add anything new. Here’s how I scored it: Story: 0/2 – repetitive and unoriginal Plot: 0/2 – predictable, nothing surprising Acting: 1.5/2 – the only bright spot, solid performances Visual Effects: 0.5/2 – average, nothing memorable Enjoyment: 1/2 – a few good moments thanks to the cast 👉 Final Score: 3/10 Unless you haven’t seen other AI-themed films before, I wouldn’t recommend this one. It feels like a weaker copy of stories we’ve already watched. See more Jack D @RT99394731 1d I like how the premise of dealing with loneliness and loss goes before getting an ai robot to cope but if I were David I would have been careful with her programming. It starts to a bit more like ex machina than companion. I’d like to see Sara crossover with M3GAN in the same universe. See more Dean R @Deanr46 2d Surprisingly good horror movie. Along the same lines as Companion, but with a sexier tone. Leads were excellent. Especially Lily Sullivan. The kills were darker and gorier than I expected...especially if you're a male. A fun horror movie that is underrated in my opinion. See more Jeremiah C @RT78612892 3d great movie!! its better than you would expect. its megan + obsession into one! this movie came out before obsession though. i hope theres a sequel as the ending kinda leaves us a cliffhanger!! sara was a badass and the end credits song is also nice and fits well with this movie! its more of a sci fi thriller than a horror tbh. if you like thrillers and drama with a little bit of sci fi this is for you! See more Laura R @lrangel80 3d Another tired, predictable "killer robot goes yandere" trope. 🙄 As soon as the safety protocols come off, it just fumbles into a generic slasher. If you actually want a smart, clever sci-fi thriller that turns the subservient android premise on its head, watch Companion (2025) instead. Or if you want a beautiful cyberpunk romance that explores true humanism and emotional connection without the cheap bloodbath, go read Greg Dragon's novel Re-Wired. It's also available on Audible. Pass on this. See more nilufer E @Nilicim 3d It really never gets old. It reminded me a lot of Companion, but honestly, this kind of thing feels increasingly plausible these days. Maybe that's what made it work so well for me. Nothing groundbreaking, but still a very entertaining watch. See more Read all reviews
