Come for the abidingly mysterious plot, stay for Hagan's bewitching performance.

The film doesn't always work as a genre exercise, but it's a winner as a character study, in large part because of how committed Hagan is to playing Janie's derangement. Casting directors in search of the offbeat should take note.

Sun Choke is, in keeping with a protagonist who comes in more than one 'version', a disorienting, dissociative affair, reminiscent in parts of Yorgos Lanthimos' Dogtooth (2009) - and all beautiful, tense, hallucinatory and deeply disturbing.

The story descends into all-too-familiar psycho-stalker territory, arriving at a far-from-satisfactory conclusion for all concerned.

A psychological horror and surreal character study of co-dependency. Cresciman straddles a line where you may never know exactly what's real and what's not, even at the end.

A woman affected by a past trauma is subjected to a bizarre holistic therapy by her caretaker. "Sun Choke" is a surreal study of the main character's psyche. The narrative is embedded with an ambiguous and dreamy vibe, which might be a turn-off for many viewers who prefer a more cohesive story.

Poorly casted. The lead actress was supposed to be in her teens but looked in her late 30s

I'm all for a poetic psychological thriller, but this one gets wrapped up in itself too many times to make any sense at all

Wouldn't call it a horror except for 3 gory scenes. It was a trippy drama. The movie was great at making you root for the supposed protagonist before switching on a dime and making them the antagonist. Great acting, good direction, good cinematography. Soundtrack was tame but applicable usually. Its definitely a slow burn.

Sun Choke needs some time it is a slow burn . This film works as a character study of in large part because of how committed actress Sarah Hagan is to playing Janie's derangement. It is never really made clear why 'Janie' is a troubled soul suffering from chronic mental disorder with abnormal violent social behavior. Sun Choke with excellent acting from all. The film things adds up to the creation of one evocative, trippy film that is sure to run chills down your spine. This film offers a unique experience that'll leave you surprised and intrigued.
