Between the premise and the lively score, “Survive” is decent enough B-movie background noise that closely mirrors “Dante’s Peak” until something truly remarkable occurs... Go to Full Review

This directorial pep, along with invested performances across the board, allows Survive to build a sense of family vulnerabilities that is rawer than the standard cheap audience-identification tactics usually used in blockbuster disaster movies. Go to Full Review

Pick a tone, Survive! Its push-pull between plausible terror and outright silliness is about equal, for better or worse. Go to Full Review

Being a low-budget film, Frédéric Jardin...had to resort to his imagination, for lack of resources. And it must be said that he responded well to that requirement. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

But there’s no accusing Survive of being dry, swinging for the fences in a narrative that plays out somewhere between The Day After Tomorrow and Mad Max. Go to Full Review

The film begins with a silly alarmist set piece and then tries to up the stakes by fast tracking the fall of humanity in survivalist situations until finally arriving at becoming Starship Troopers – with crabs! Silly. Go to Full Review

Eric M @RT12019529 2d As a fan of disaster movies, even low budget ones... this is probably the most disappointing.... so many things that could have been better, even with a low budget. Obviously zero thought process went into this or the writer(s) have zero common sense. 1. Where was the evidence of the ocean, i mean we all know what's at the bottom, but apparently its a desert wasteland over night. 2. The randomness of objects scattered was ridiculous., (toilets, chairs) lol... 3. Plane with birds in it, lmao... like what!!! Are we supposed to be dumb enough to believe that a plane at the bottom of the ocean had birds in it, haha... 4. The ending, the ocean comes in & a minute later they're on land again... when there was no land in sight... so watcher beware, dont bother with this movie. See more Oluwole O @RT64865994 2d So many wrong scenes, the actors tried their best but wasn’t so good. 1. The sea floor wasn’t a sea floor 2. A plane having birds and bats inside of it after being under the ocean or sea for years from how it looked is weird. 3. Even if there wasn’t enough budget for this movie at least birds and bats coming out a plane didn’t need to be added. 4. Being hunted down by crabs is wild. 5. How do you have a crazy man and dog out of nowhere after something so phenomenal happens and next thing the director resorts to is a man with a dog killing an absolute stranger. There are so many things wrong with that movie and to be honest the worst film I’ve ever watched in the last 20 years of me watching films. See more Tony O @RT56500916 2d So bad that it’s good?? I guess… I almost made it to the end without having to shut it off…. I am not a fan… of Low quality movies A little annoyed Prime has it listed as TOP 10 Adventure Movies.. LoL See more Actually I @Susan265 Aug 4 How on earth did this movie get such high critic reviews? This is one of the stupidest survivor movies I think I've ever seen. Somehow they survived the entire ocean being emptied out underneath them. Then the surrounding land is like a desert bone dry the only water anywhere is a puddle in their boat with a couple of fish flopping, nothing anywhere else. Then out of all of the people that could happen upon them they get a madman. Who promptly kills the father with his homemade spear because these people have zero sense of self preservation. The mother gets a scratch on her shoulder from the spear... but suddenly she can't walk, she's limping, from what? Then there's the casting choices. An anorexic 30 something being cast as a witless teenage girl. None of these people can act. The idea that pole reversal would cause the oceans to move is idiotic, that's just not how these things work. I only lasted halfway through and I just couldn't take it anymore. Survive it if you can. See more Dart T @RT14640639 Aug 4 I have watched hundreds, possibly thousands, of movies in 37 years and have never created an account just to review one. Survive changed that. I’m a liberal and a leftist. I care about pollution and climate change. That is why this movie’s "message" is so insulting. It replaces world-building with scattered plastic, radioactive barrels and toilets on a bone-dry "ocean floor" that should still be mud, lakes and dead marine life. The magnetic poles somehow move the oceans inland. A fridge door falls off for no reason. Bats fly from a sealed plane that was underwater hours earlier. A child drinks seawater and is fine. Survivors hide in a container with a hole while a massive cargo ship sits nearby. "Abyssal" crabs near Cuba ignore endless dead sea life, their own carcasses and a fresh body, while changing from nocturnal to daytime hunters whenever the plot demands it. The film even reuses the same crab-swarm shot. This is not fun schlock. It is lazy, incoherent and offensively bad. See more charlotte S @RT92495169 Aug 4 The ocean is replaced by a desert overnight? Why does a strange silent man come out of nowhere with his dog and start attacking them. There are swarms of crabs attacking people and winning? I laughed this entire movie because it was so bad.
