This is the kind of material that can't be elevated without help from behind the camera. Instead, the actors are left to gesture aimlessly through a stupefacient fog of clichs and insipid direction. Go to Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Apr 30, 2016
"Term Life" is cleanly plotted and tautly paced, but it's never as fun as it should be. Go to Full Review David Ehrlich IndieWire Apr 29, 2016

An asinine movie that has the premise for a thriller, the tone of a half-hearted neo-noir, and the plot of a daddy-daughter dramedy. Go to Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Aug 5, 2016
... a clichd noir wannabe script that manages only some meager laughs amid the generic shootouts and chase sequences. Go to Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media Jul 1, 2016

This labored, failed thriller feels like a collection of odd puzzle pieces that don't fit but have been nonetheless forced together. Even the great cast members seem squeezed into the wrong roles. Go to Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com May 4, 2016

A mess, and a seemingly needless one, watching a larger tale of survival pointlessly whittled down to fragments of reason to make the feature play as fast as possible. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Bennett O @Bennett149 Jan 2, 2026 I put five to see if it gets put up See more Laurie S @Karlwinters Nov 21, 2025 The hoary old chestnut of father and daughter conflict scenario is done to death. Haven't screen writers got any imagination? It's becoming tediuous. E toda a trama é construída. Roteiro: razoavel Vale apena assistir? See more Jul 30, 2021 I gave this movie the extra half star because Hailee Steinfeld and Jordi Mollá gave decent performances. Other than that this movie's over-played plot is riddled with holes and has been done better many times over with more palatable protagonists. Vince Vaughn is a tall and awkward actor and his performance as a "hard guy" is uncomfortable, he should stick to comedy. This movie is unnecessary and instead of watching it you could watch any other heist/crimey action movie. See more Read all reviews
