Characters are dumb and there are side characters who sacrifice themselves almost immediately for characters that they don't know. Also this is way too fast paced. It should've been longer just so they could've added more explaination, lore, and backstories + development for the characters. See more Claudio C @Claudio666 Jan 7 The Secret of Shookum Hills (12,181 – 06 Jan 2026) The geologist from Cambridge, Darren, hires the experienced guide Arianne to take his friends Jaime, Shawn, Terry and he to Shookum Hills. The town with 1,000 inhabitants disappeared after a mysterious coal mine fire many years ago. When she asks for direction to the owner of a store on the road, the man advises her to return home and soon she is followed by another car. However, she speeds up and escapes from the car. When they find Shookum Hills, they discover that the place is surrounded by electrified fence as well as the openings to the former mine. Soon they discover the secret of Shookum Hills. "Shookum Hills", a.k.a. "The Devil Berlow" (2021), is an entertaining horror movie with a good, but unoriginal storyline. The screenplay is gripping and Will Patton is the great name of the cast. The conclusion is open, indicating the possibility of a sequel. My vote is six. Title (Brazil): "Acordando o Diabo" ("Waking Up the Devil") See more Becks A @RT59308745 Aug 23 Loved the concept of it, but the delivery was a bit lacking. The ominous background music & sound effects definitely add to the flavour (and the stars given) though. It needs a scene where one of the Protectors explains the Creatures - their origin, their hierarchy, their anatomy - something! It's the sort of movie you watch when there's nothing else on & you fancy a bit of nonsense which holds some well placed jumpscares.
