Hall, as a woman who's been slowly waking up to her reality for a long time without even knowing it, is terrific.

The violence is always emotional and psychological, not bloody and physical, which makes The Gift that much more disconcerting.

Wholly calculated and far smarter than its slasher flick marketing, "The Gift" exudes a slow boiling creepiness that, for the most part, doesn't jump the shark or digress into that aforementioned gutter of cheese.

It may play as a standard stalker film in the beginning, it slowly evolves into something else. It’s sad, disturbing, and a fairly unpredictable film. The ending is abrupt, but it allows the viewer to make their own conclusion — which I quite liked.

Slow, predictable and just not enough depth to reach greatness. But it was ok and had some interesting aspects. Not one I'd watch again

A fantastic film with stellar acting and precise direction. While a few parts are predictable, the strong script mostly surprises. Although it isn't a horror movie, it delivers a gripping, near-constant sense of tension with clever twists. Highly recommended!

Solid movie with good acting. The plot was a little bit of a reach for me as this isn’t a realistic reason for such extreme vengeance. And if that’s coming from me, I promise it to be true. Overall, good movie and acting. Not going to be your favorite movie but will likely be above average.

Creepy and entertaining. Joel Edgerton was pretty amazing in it, too.
