The film ends up being so interested in showing Steinem’s days as a feminist icon that it often forgets the human element. And it stays away from any of her complexities and controversies leaving us with a fairly one-dimensional portrayal.

2,5 hours of Gloria Steinem's autobiography. Which I knew nothing about before watching the movie. After the i hour I was like "Damn this movie is boring af" Then I watch another vlog with Britney Spears conspiracy theories & returned back to the movie. Gloria is a journalist and social activist who fought for female rights. She is one of the creators of the movement towards reproductive freedom and gender equality. The impact that she had on society knows no limits and has no edge.

After seeing this movie for my first time in 2025, and then reading the reviews here, it’s fair to say this movie is more important than ever, right now. I’m especially surprised by some of the remarks left by women. How quickly we forget recent history. I encourage every female to watch this immediately, as a reminder. Your rights are not a guarantee. Nobody gave them to you. Your opinion would be mute, if not for the women before you, who fought you to have one. In this short two months, we are close to being set back 50 years of progress for females. I highly recommend every female young and old watch this biopic piece of history. I’m horrified by many of the reviews, but isn’t it nice to have the rights, to submit one, without being anonymous?

Vikander is a fav - but her portrayal of Steinem is borderline nauseating in The Glorias. Apart from Steinem being gross, the movie itself isn't terrible, but it's all over the place (ie animated segments)
