Critics Consensus

The Informer may prove a passable diversion for less demanding thriller fans, but most of its ingredients have been recycled from superior entries in the genre.

A solid crime flick whose heart rate never rises to a point commensurate with the many layers of danger its eponymous protagonist faces.

“The Informer” nimbly plays within its gritty crime genre, maintaining a propulsive pace that keeps its audience on their toes. It all tangibly plays out within the moral malaise of underworld violence and crooked law enforcement.

A decent crime thriller diversion. But so disingenuous, there one single real American playing an American, the rest of the cast are Europeans, and, not believable in their roles.
