Critics Consensus

Nicolas Cage's first Western may be a bit of a genre departure for the prolific actor, but in most respects, it's merely a return to his Old Way of picking up roles in disappointingly subpar projects.

Cathy P Jan 23, 2023 It was predictable and slow at times. See more Disappointed Jan 22, 2023 It was like watching a very low budget movie with inexperienced actors. Best actor was the little girl. But who leaves a 12 year old to survive on her own and run a merchantile store by herself even during the wild west? See more Kathleen W Jan 22, 2023 Very very slow. Nicholas Cage needs to hang it up. Too old. The little girl that played Brooke was very good. See more John F Jan 17, 2023 It was a good western. I like Nick Cage too, so it was fun seeing him in that role. The girl who played the daughter was very good. The movie was a bit predictable, but I enjoyed it! See more Donna M Jan 14, 2023 Not your typical western, slow moving but I liked it. See more Phil Jan 13, 2023 As soon as I saw the unbelievably fake mustache on Cage in the first scene of the movie, I almost walked out…I should have! Terrible writing, terrible directing, terrible cast, and one of Nicolas Cages worst performance’s ever! See more Read all reviews
