Nathan N @RT40554100 Oct 1, 2026 This movie was awful. It was all over the place. It tried to explain some message that is important, I'm sure, but this movie failed to explain it. It had forgettable characters, forgettable set pieces, bad special effects, and horrible acting. We did not finish it, but then we finished it and it was still bad. It's just awful. Do everyone a favor, and your grandkids a favor, and everyone you know a favor, and don't watch this movie because it's horrible. The end after the movie, there's a message about Airbnb hosts and slavery, which I guess was important and more entertaining and informative than the movie was. I still don't know how the ending worked, what happened. It's not even worth entertaining the thought of watching this. Don't do it, please. I really wanted something unique and different, and I felt like this movie actually delivered some of that, even if it didn’t always push the story as far as it could have. It’s definitely not perfect, but I found it enjoyable enough to watch and get through. One thing I appreciated is that the movie doesn’t leave you completely hanging. It does answer the questions it creates, which helped the story feel more complete. At the same time, I can understand why some viewers may have a difficult time with it because the subject matter is extremely heavy and deals directly with racism. I think movies dealing with racism have to be careful about how that material is presented, particularly when the subject can feel one-sided or provocative. Still, putting that aside, I thought The Plantation delivered enough to keep me focused and interested. It has flaws, but I didn’t think it was a complete miss. Poor acting, bad script, the cast wore the same clothes, and even the soundtrack was horrible. See more Read all reviews
