thiago S @Thiagostone Apr 3, 2026 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Kevin P @RT55971421 Mar 31, 2026 A surreal historical epic that combines different eras of time like the Ancient Roman Empire, the Mussolini reign of the early 20th century, and the contemporary 1990's. Turning this historical epic into a twisted dark fantasy. The film has some very unique and experimental filmmaking techniques and storytelling conventions that give the movie a unique identity. It's simultaneously a Roman tragedy and dark comedy about the seemingly never ending cycle of violence and revenge that has plagued humanity forever. Anthony Hopkins is charismatic as always and commits 100% to the role of insanity as the grieving Roman general Titus. The movie has an epic grand scale with the huge, colorful set designs, costume designs, and a large number of extras. Great cinematography with imposing sharp angles and contrasting lighting. It's simultaneously goofy and awesome. The film has such an interesting and unpredictable plot. The climax is insane. Tragedy doesn't have heroes; only victims. See more Jacob B @RT48293763 Mar 5, 2025 Shakespeare has never been brought to the screen with such a truly original flare! Julie Taymor directs the Bards least well known tragedy (as well as his most violent and bloody) with such unique style and visual flair that Fellini would be jealous. Creating a highly stylized world that is cobbled together with pieces of Ancient Rome, fascist Italy, and modern technologies, Taymor sees this Shakespeare play as a comment on man’s murderous nature towards his fellow man throughout history (hence the sets from several different time periods). Violent acts of war, revenge, political revolts, racial hatred’s etc. all beget violence and of course, violence begets more violence. Okay, so thematically it isn’t the most stimulating play Shakespeare ever wrote and Taymor knows that, hence she has her dazzling set pieces taking center stage more so than the prose of the world’s best dramatist. The film is violent, beautiful and fun as hell! The cast includes Anthony Hopkins giving a commanding lead performances with Jessica Lange and Alan Cumming and Geraldine McEwan offering solid support. The result is a production that will grip you to the end just to see what bizarre costumes, props, or locations they will use in the next scene. See more Read all reviews
