Critics Consensus

Tragedy Girls injects familiar teen tropes with just enough up-to-the-minute commentary -- and pitch-black humor -- to work as an irreverently entertaining diversion.

... Imagine instead a Heathers that gleefully goes all the way past the point of nihilism, and ends up in a warped funhouse mirror reflection of society that blends camp and satire in equal measure...

In the meantime, I don't want to oversell a near-great B-movie that is nonetheless a B-movie. Suffice to say Tragedy Girls has great fun with myriad horror movie tropes.

For the most part ... the movie cranks visceral, caffeinated thrills out of its teenage-meat grinder.

Tragedy Girls is the kind of movie that reminds you why you love horror-comedies in the first place. It’s creative, energetic, and doesn’t waste a single minute.

The lovely little psychopaths, the gore gags, the realistic and entertaining exchanges: they are all perfect. While the ending isn’t necessarily realistic, it’s tied in a pretty pink blood splattered bow and I was really happy with it.

It's over the top, but it maintains a sense of real-worldness, making every murder feel that much more resonantand making laughing that much more uncomfortable.

Tragedy Girls is well-produced with an brilliantly cast lead duo, but be warned: the story is utterly insane. The complete lack of empathy from the main characters is mind-boggling - if people like this actually exist in the real world, heaven help us all. Despite leaving you constantly bewildered and stunned, it still earns a big thumbs up.

The lead characters have great chemistry, and the story unfolds at an amusing pace with just the right amount of dark humor and thrills. This high school horror is about best friends and makes for an entertaining flick.

If the girls were more “likeable” maaaaaybe it would’ve been better but nah probably not even then. It seemed like it was going somewhere good and then splintered off into predictability land. Nooooo don’t watch
