Critics Consensus

War Dogs rises on the strength of Jonah Hill's compelling performance to take a lightly entertaining look at troubling real-world events.

Sure, there's voiceover, freeze frames, and morally reprehensible characters, but it reads more like a parody film than an inspired one.

By the end we have warmed -- almost -- to the innocent villainy of two con folk serving a greater maladroit maleficence.

Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but it is also lazily standing on the shoulders of giants. Thats the impact and existence of Todd Phillipss War Dogs in a gun err nutshell.

Around 98% of the time I go with the critics, but this was astonishing. Surprisingly, War Dogs is a great movie, no matter how historically inaccurate it was. It had such a Todd Philips filmmaking style and proved to be a action-packed Friday night film!

kinda just a bad film, acting is not convincing from everyone expect David as he does manage to show some actual emotion. + the whole film is Israeli propaganda

Jonah Hill always delivers even though the movie is told through the eyes of Miles Teller's character. The fact that it is based on a true story makes it even better due to the absurd nature of the situation. It kept my attention the entire time and I would recommend this movie to everybody.

Overall a solid, 8/10 movie. Definitely underrated, super interesting plot and enjoyable film. It is not the kind of movie that will leave you speechless by any means, and it was predictable at times. However, I still found it a solid watch and recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it.

Too much underrated and hatred for this movie. I really recommended for people who want easy comedy to laugh. David’s (Miles Teller) pov narrative was my favorite. Appearance of Bradley Cooper was serving every single lines perfectly. Jonah’s character was everything we can expect for selfish, self-centered and greedy entrepreneur, and he perfectly delivered. I cut half a star because I kinda need more from Bradley, lol.
