Warm Bodies offers a sweet, well-acted spin on a genre that all too often lives down to its brain-dead protagonists.

Warm Bodies achieves a heartfelt ebullience that's inspiring, and for a movie about the undead watching this made me feel as alive as anything I've seen in ages. Go to Full Review Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) Dec 31, 2013

Even after we thought the genre was exhausted with 28 Days Later … and then Shaun of the Dead… and then the Zombieland twofer … and then ParaNorman … and then some … here we find fresh blood pumped into the format with this zom-rom-com. Go to Full Review Aaron Neuwirth Why So Blu Feb 14, 2023

I may already have a number one film that is a romantic comedy with zombies (Shaun of the Dead), but Warm Bodies is a lot of fun and charming in an “eat my brains” sort of way. Go to Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand Dec 3, 2022
Director Jonathan Levine... has fun contrasting the blank surface with a self-aware narration from R, the nimble, still human mind behind the shuffling body and irresistible instincts to devour living flesh. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

See more Ivy A @Movielover71526483 Sep 3, 2026 To be honest this was a very good movie. I really enjoyed the plot. I wish there was a little bit more and like they would’ve gotten together I guess but it was a good movie. I recommend it. Just thought the main female character was kind of dumb I definitely enjoyed the main male character And his story and stuff. See more Brendan K @Bkeller25 Sep 1, 2026 Not the most original premise but it provides is a clever spin. It's very funny and heartfelt, aided by a fantastic soundtrack. Super underrated, don't miss out on it! See more Ashequl I @Tofa13 Aug 29, 2026 Jonathan Levine’s Warm Bodies (2013) offers a fresh, lighthearted spin on the post-apocalyptic genre by retelling Romeo and Juliet through a zombie outbreak. Nicholas Hoult gives a charming, funny performance as "R," a corpse whose internal monologue and newfound love for a human survivor (Teresa Palmer) slowly start reanimating his heart. The film works exceptionally well as a feel-good romantic comedy, backed by sharp humor, a fantastic soundtrack, and great supporting work from Rob Corddry. However, for dedicated horror fans expecting terrifying scares or dark survival dread, the movie's comedic mocking of traditional zombie lore might feel disappointing. Judging it purely as a romantic satire, it stands as a fun, unique, and highly entertaining watch.
