Delivering unabashedly pulpy thrills without diminishing its big heart, Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother is an inventive and tonally unique action flick where Mahershala Ali's soulful performance cuts deepest of all.

Writer-director Bassam Tariq admirably balances tone in a story that could easily become a runaway train, centering it on Latif's family in a way that tethers it to reality.

Played by a terrific John Cho, wearing gold dental grills and a cowboy hat, the pastor is one of the film's more fascinating creations: a gun-loving ex-military man who shares Latif's belief in the cleansing power of violence.

The strength of Ali’s performance as a man pondering why he both craves and rejects violence, and reassessing his role in his family, is something to believe in.

I loved how unexpectedly quiet and intense this movie could be and how the violence was sort of-- it was necessary, but it was also not the primary focus for the entire movie.

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother manages to put Tariq’s bag of visual tricks and Ali’s swordsmanship training to good use in a thriller whose soulfulness and brutality stem from the moral duality within its hero.

This was so awful, that we almost left the theater before the movie was finished. More than half the movie was about finding breast milk for a baby. Ridiculous plot. The movie showed both Christians and Muslims in a bad light. Run, dont walk, as far as you can from this one!

I like everything but the sex toy’s and some language. It’s going to hurt viewership. I also think the end was very anti climatic.

Absolutely incredible movie worth seeing in theaters. The story is beautiful, action drama and a sprinkle of comedy. Warning: bring tissues!
