Short on action but long on ham-fisted life lessons, the debut feature from writer-director Li Taiyan seems tailor-made for the Chinese holiday season, with its fast-paced blend of slapstick humour, domestic squabbles and climactic melodrama. Go to Full Review

Shiraju D @RT46983956 6d I’ve been a huge Jackie Chan fan since I was a kid and grew up watching his movies. But in this film, his acting is the best of his entire career. It was actually hard for me to see my favorite hero looking so old and struggling🥹💔. During the climax, his performance literally brought tears to my eyes. It made me realize my favorite hero has grown old. If you’re a true Jackie Chan fan, you’ll definitely love this. It’s a must-watch!❤️❤️❤️ See more Dicky P @RT35242251 Mar 19 Unexpected Family (2026) is a meaningful film that explores the idea that family is not always defined by blood, but by the connections people choose to build with one another. Although the pacing is slow, it allows the audience to deeply understand the importance of mutual support, especially in later stages of life and when facing challenges such as Alzheimer’s disease.
