Takis T @TakisTz 1d What makes this a must-see is, among many other things, that most of it is original footage from within the cult when it was still undiscovered. You get to see the "prophet" say surreal stuff without a wince of suspicion from his female followers which indicates the brainwashing they had been through actually long before him. It's terrifying to see human nature being distorted to this level and see it in detail. Incredible documentary. See more Breda D @RT44622047 1d This eye opening docuseries came out of left field and is a truly amazing insight into the mind of the preditory man, the amount of filmed footage plays out like a thriller though unfortunately too true for words See more Ms B. @pajama 1d Wow. Excellent expose. Absolutely riveting. Watched all four episodes today. Really illuminates the patterns of manipulation as well as the bravery of those willing to break through. 5 stars the whole way. See more Elizabeth E @RT57418351 2d Set aside time for all four episodes — this one demands to be watched in full. This documentary is riveting from start to finish. At its heart is an extraordinary act of sacrifice: a cameraman and his wife willingly walk away from their comfortable lives to help rescue women trapped under the spell of Samuel Bateman, a self-proclaimed prophet who was, by any honest measure, a madman. What makes the film so compelling is the paradox it refuses to look away from — these women didn't want to be rescued. They were besotted, completely absorbed in Bateman’s fabricated world, and they loved living there. Watching that unravel is both heartbreaking and illuminating. If you've ever wondered how intelligent people surrender their judgment to a charismatic manipulator, this documentary answers that question in deeply human terms. Mind control is real, and this film shows you exactly how it works — and what it costs to undo it. See more Read all reviews
