Watching Catch Me Daddy feels like clenching your teeth until they hurt. It tells the story of Laila, a young British Asian woman sharing a caravan on the Yorkshire Moors with her boyfriend Aaron. The film divides its attention between them and a group of thuggish-looking men. Their actions suggest their menacing intentions: lining the boot of their car with plastic and asking locals to call them if they spot the young couple. The story plays out on the bleak Moors and in an eery, half-decayed town nearby. Against these backdrops, a more savage side of human nature surfaces, that of hunter and hunted. I was reminded of No Country for Old Men in the way silence is used to create a sense of impending doom. This is a dark and brooding film that grips you with its tension and burns it as slowly as it can.

This movie felt really really authentic. The experience felt like you were watching a true story play out in front of you. The story was great. The acting was excellent from every single actor involved. The emotions being conjured up by the events playing out were raw. Things were very realistic vs being outlandish in other movies just to have more action. I really enjoyed this movie. Note: it starts off pretty slow and weird to the point that you might question if you're watching the right movie... stick with it.
