It’s invigorating to watch these interactions, even if similar filmmaking methods have been used before. Go to Full Review

Jeffrey A 1d As a group therapist myself, I eagerly wanted to see this movie. I was a bit disappointed. I felt that there was too much that felt contrived. But then, of course it's contrived! It's not a real group! But I also thought the style Doc was a bit over the top - too much talking! Didn't let the group interact enough. His interventions were too individual-directed as opposed to whole-group oriented for my taste. A very different style from mine. I'm concerned that lay people seeing this will get a stilted view of what group therapy is like, and it might dissuade them from joining a group. Which would be too bad because group therapy is SO powerful and helpful to people. See more Celeste 6d The film is rare, intimate experience that pulls you straight into the circle. So raw and organic that you feel like a participant, not just an observer, developing deep empathy for every voice in the room. It makes it unforgettable is the presence of a real life analyst guiding the sessions, and delivering a level of authenticity that redefines what cinema can feel like.
