(B) See more Tom F @RT55173143 Aug 8 I was prepared to dismiss this as having little value to the American 2025 viewer, but much of the comedy is found in nicely nuanced examinations of awkward experiences, with delightful extended gags and running bits over almost nothing. The meticulous timing & staging reveal one of the true auteurs in cinema, who would find full flowering in one of cinema's greatest achievements, his "Playtime," which takes his formal approach to dizzying heights. These kinds of holidays, where eccentric strangers negotiate each other's foibles and are summoned to indifferent meals by a bell, no longer exist. When did you last see men wearing heavy jackets and smoking pipes as they strolled on the beach.
