As a history lesson about Canada's unjust treatment of Native Americans, it's often eye-opening, but as storytelling it's clunky and highly familiar, and the period re-creation is seldom convincing.

It could have been much better but strange choices in the writing and directing. It's definitely much more of a slow drama, than a thriller. In fact there's just a couple parts that are thrilling and the rest is super slow and kinda strange.

Not a lot of laughs. Drugs take over from alcohol in ‘The Art of Forgetfulness'. Well worth seeing though. Good performances all round.

The story is about how relentless abuses and ignorance is fertile terrain for more abuse and ignorance while creating a drive for a mafia style mob enterprise. This is how the mafia started probably in sicily. Well, it is not brilliance for sure. Stupid mafia and stupid police go so well together. Well made film with stunted characters and/or probably psychopathic. A bit hypnotic.
