xpig332 B @RT69712065 Nov 8 When I saw the high ratings on RT I got excited, when I saw a dragon rise up from a pool of magma I was done! Then I continued for 20 more minutes, incredibly bad, a movie by and for simpletons. See more Ben D @RT87620530 10/31/2024 It feels mean reviewing this movie. At first, I thought it would be a fun, low-budget sci-fi. Then, I thought I may have stumbled upon a low-budget sci-fi satire. In the end, it’s neither of these and is just a really, really bad movie. I could get over poor effects. In fact, there’s a certain charm to cheesy sci-fi effects when accompanied by a good story and characters. But the writing and dialogue is atrocious. Some of the lines don’t even make sense. Michael Paré as Kip has the look of a lead actor and rugged spaceship captain (think a poor man’s Thomas Haden Church), but is one of many storylines and barely leaves the cockpit the entire movie. The trailer for this one did me dirty. Although I figured it wouldn’t have the highest budget, the concept of “downloading someone’s soul and uploading them onto a human/android hybrid” (a concept I’ve explored in my own writing) hooked me. The movie is like… barely about that. I’m happy that actors, writers, and crew were compensated to pay their rent and mortgages, but this is the worst movie I’ve seen since The Vatican Tapes (36) — unfortunately, Michael Paré was in that one too. There's a little bit from all the past faves: Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, Farscape, et.al. Is this a pilot for another TV series? You're not gonna see anything new here...but you will be entertained. Nuthin' like a good ol' space romp to satisfy your craving for popcorn and a BigGulp®. See more Amanda L @RT61077393 12/09/2023 My husband and I got about 20 minutes in laughing pretty much the whole time. Only two, at best, of the characters could actually act. Special effects were, let's say, interesting and the plot was so basic and obvious. Most of the girls were poorly dressed and the rest of the movie, I'm not sure as we didn't get that far.
