At the end of the day, The Shade Shepherd is a thumping and garish character venture, made to look and feel alluring, yet ends up inheriting an artistic drive, low on fuel and brisk in speed.

Done poorly and with less imagination this could have been merely a brothers on the run from the law type film. Instead it is less about the darkness inherent in the story and more about human relationships.
