Extramundane plunges us into the life of Trevor (Brant Rotnem), who takes on the role of property manager at a disturbingly eerie apartment complex amid a pandemic. As Trevor navigates his new job, he grapples with the loss of his father and the mysterious disappearances of various tenants. The film is saturated with mystery, keeping the audience on edge as it unravels its dark secrets. The cinematography is leeched of color, providing a gritty, almost oppressive feel that perfectly matches the film’s tone. The sound design and score are particularly effective, heightening the tension and drawing viewers deeper into the narrative. While Extramundane includes several slow-burn dialogue scenes, it’s the direction and cinematography that truly shine, keeping audiences glued to the unfolding story. See more Kris Y @RT94786236 12/20/2022 A new building manager during the height of the pandemic takes it upon himself to solve the mystery of why so many people in his building have gone missing. He discovers a dark history of the building and enters a nightmare from which he must fight to escape. I've seen a few ""contained", isolation films that were made during the pandemic and they were not great however this indie film surprised me. The camera work is good, the acting is believable and the writing is not bad. It kept me guessing and the twist is great. Check out Extramundane! See more Rick I @RT72302199 12/05/2022 Extra-effective This movie opens with a scene that got me on edge quicker than anything in recent memory and never really let up from there. I thought it stumbled a bit with some of the cinematography choices. I wonder how much of that had to do with shooting during the pandemic, which was woven into the story in an interesting way; always present but never the focus. But all in all, there's a mystery, a monster, some legitimately creepy sequence, and some good performances, what more could you ask for? See more Read all reviews
