In the desert town of White Sage, surveyor Jack Hare (Randolph Scott) finds himself unintentionally involved in a land war between his new employer, Adam Naab (J. Eager to disrupt Adam's plans, Judson has Jack stranded in the desert, where he is found by Adam and his ward, Judy (Sally Blane).
