The yeti looks cool but it's just a guy in a costume however one thing I will praise it for is the gore. The gore is on a whole other level and it blows away my expectations for it. But what really concerns me is the realisation that the resources of planet earth have been wasted in making this film, and the pollution resulting from the making of this dreadful film is very, very sad indeed. See more Nov 25, 2020 This is basically a gore film, with some grisly death sequences. The acting is so horribly bad one might call it abominable. There are literally scenes with a woman looking slightly aside from the camera dryly and emotionlessly reciting lines. Many of the lines make no coherent sense and just throw in a few random meaningless scientific phrases. The military characters enjoy shooting randomly at nothing. The rubber gorilla suit used for the Yeti is barely more than your average Halloween ape suit, and they do closeups as if to show off its fakeness. Also the music is oddly loud with too much reverb in deference to the foley and voices. See more May 8, 2020 "Abominable" is really low budget and a lot of the continuity seems muddled with poor production choices. I never like to come out and say a movie is bad, A lot of work and heart goes into movie making, even the low budget projects so I feel every film deserves a once over. With this one, it was hard to get into the story, and the story isn't a bad one. A science team seeking to uncover the miracles of a special plant, reminiscent of the classic "Werewolf Of London". A yeti that is guarding the location and vicious enough to kill any and all who trespass. It is a cool story. Unfortunately there is just a lot that goes wrong. Poor editing, the sound effects, and really bad shots of the creature that shows the suit is way to big for the actor wearing it. Now minus the "gamer" level CGI, I do give props to some decent practical effects moments. But there just isn't enough going on in "Abominable" that works out right. See more Apr 18, 2020 Horrible story, bad script and story, worse acting ever, bad scenes even cutting out plot points, suit was ok but looks like a Halloween costume, gore was the best bit tho, oh and the guns OMG, you can tell they are fake, Scopes mounted wrong and can even see the small impossible peep hole, and the sniper is a tiny toy, I can believe how this got high credit, like in the scripting ohh a yeti is running at me im gonna stand still shooting instead of running, and oh just got attacked let me go back outside in the next scene. the microphone quality is horrible and kept changing every scene and even the camera, like it had a blue filter on one shot and the next its normal, and kept changing from day to night so iradically, and were the hell was the storm suggested in the movie.
