This film observes the Arctic over the course of a year, with more of an interest in showing the breadth of life that grows in the region than assembling a narrative about the hardships these animals suffer or the hunter/hunted relationships they may share.

Here's a film to take your breath away and make you weep: the former because of the spellbinding, big-screen nature photography that takes us deep into the world of Arctic wildlife; the latter because of a tooth-achingly banal commentary. See more 02/02/2011 I love movies about nature and its life... but I have seen better. The white planet has of course real nice shots and delivers some informattion but nothing I haven't known yet. I am afraid, after having seen the ultimately compelling BBC Planet Earth Edition my expectations are quite high. Still, it is a visually stunning and inspiring movie, and if you're interested in what happens in other parts of the world... well, just have a look at it.
