What Worked: Sarker’s camera gives the tunnel sequences a suffocating, raw texture. Nisho is a powerhouse, bringing tragic weight to Masud. Through my Methodist faith lens, seeing him abandon grace to let revenge consume his soul reinforced my belief in the absolute necessity of forgiveness to preserve our humanity. The Cuts: Spending so much time on the love triangle meant the momentum totally stalled out; it was just spinning its wheels on soap opera drama. The forced item song totally clashed with the gritty vibe. Keeping it spoiler-free, the third act’s dark turn abandons redemptive justice, leaving a hollow taste in my mouth.
