Joyce Tenneson was one of the first female photographers to successfully break into the fashion and art worlds in the 1970s. Her subjects were mostly women and her style was distinctively feminine which made her and her work a complete outlier. As Tenneson struggled to pursue her artistic vision, she had to navigate diverging roles as good mother and accomplished artist.
