Craig B @RT43742934 20 hrs ago Quite possibly one of the greatest movies of all time. They don't make 'em like this any more that's for sure! See more Alan G @AlanG469 5 days ago It's fine - a good old-fashioned movie about stardom in the Golden Era. However, it is not anywhere near the artistic achievement of Sunset Blvd, which lost to it for Best Picture. See more bruce F @bruce999 Aug 15, 2026 a classic drama. well acted, marylin monroe plays a small role See more Renaldo D @RT30888824 Jul 27, 2026 Classic, well-made, and featuring magnificent performances. See more Howie B @Howie10 Jul 18, 2026 It may have been made 76 years ago (even slightly older than me!), but remains one of those enduring classics from Hollywood, turning itself on the world of theatre and the live stage, while suggesting its ‘Own World’ to be a (superior implied) alternative. The movie has at its roots a story of a ruthless, calculating and ambitious actress determined to take all she can by whatever means. Its comedic appeal was probably unintended at the time, but what adds even more interest to a modern audience is the powerful performance of Bette Davis (pure magic… and as the song goes… those Bette Davis eyes). What a treat to attend a screening on a Saturday afternoon (remember Saturday matinees?) in a packed theatre which has been restored to its old world splendour. Memory Lane alive… See more Robson C @RT82519826 Feb 1, 2026 Margo Channing, uma diva do teatro, é apresentada a Eve Harrington. See more Read all reviews
