01/21/2015 This movie did little for me. The trippy bits were a complete turn-off and a disconnect. I didn't understand the characters, I didn't empathize with them. I was just glad when the movie was over. See more 07/06/2014 It wants to be a good movie, but it is far too "quirky" for its own good. It often feels forced. It must be noted that Demi Moore gives a solid performance. And, Parker Posey carries her charismatic weight. But the film just sort of flounders. Lichtenstein's film manages to be both all-too-familiar and a bit too strange at the same time. I felt like I have seen this type of movie before. It reminded me of movies like Marvin's Room and In Her Shoes, except those films were better than this one. The tone and the pacing was off. Parker Posey is great in the film. She and Demi Moore are great as sisters in the film. Rip Torn seemed miscast as their father. The film is worth seeing for Posey and Moore's performances.
