For every such moment there's a sappy montage or overt visual reference to Rossellini to cheapen the effect. Go to Full Review Lou Lumenick New York Post Sep 13, 2013

[A] familiarly snoozy romantic drama. Go to Full Review Joe Neumaier New York Daily News Sep 12, 2013

Though the film plays like late-era Woody Allen - not necessarily a good thing - and Goldberg's rambunctiousness is more annoying than liberating, there's a serious depth of feeling here. Go to Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Feb 13, 2024
Bosworth and Blackley have amazing chemistry together and there’s a scene that is a direct homage to Picnic that I think about often Go to Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Sep 14, 2013

A sad routine of hurtful behavior in a movie that never expresses its complicated point of view in a satisfying manner, leaving behind unanswered questions, dim characters, and contemptible actions. Go to Full Review Brent Simon Shockya.com Sep 14, 2013

Imagine a boring, gender-swapped, totally arty and pretentious version of the travelogue-mini-film-within-a-film focusing on Kip Pardue's character from The Rules of Attraction, except strung out on Benadryl instead of methamphetamine. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Amj S @RT15363680 Jun 14, 2026 A tale as old as time when a woman ends up cheating on her husband just because...muh, feelings. Not surprised. See more Alain E @AlainE Nov 25, 2025 The first half was decent. I found impossible to watch the last twenty minutes due to extreme boredom. There is simply no justification for the woman to start an affair with a loser with a large chest tattoo. Her husband is not unattractive, neither indifferent. If these are the conditions for infidelity there would not have been a single long term relationship, ever. There are also some other questionable decisions like when the woman knocks on the guy’s door and he opens it, only to get bashful when he sees who is there and puts some pants on. Under what circumstances there would be no problem to be there in his underwear? Good cinematography. See more Mar 31, 2022 Like Call Me By Your Name but straight and less problematic. But I wish the age gap had been more problematic. See more Jun 22, 2020 I've found that many of the negative opinions and reviews come from those who find and issue with her infidelity. Ultimately, this story wasn't about romance or marriage it was about her self discovery and journey to find what she really wanted to do. And while she may have caused emotional duress for those closest to her, it felt real. This movie made me feel as if i was in Italy and was beautifully shot. I highly recommend. See more May 14, 2018 Absolutely STUNNING setting. See more Jan 6, 2017 This movie my wife and I just sat and watched and we were both its like a very slow movie and had a faint to no heartbeat. The movie is about a husband and wife that has lost a child due to miscarriage and have lost all their aspects of their relationships emotional and physical disconnect. I am not a fan of this kinda movie as its no real plot that can be shown on the screen. This should just stay a novel as in the novel you can really describe the characters and story to a great details. Watching it in a movie format is like watching two zombies. Not suitable for the kiddies. See more Read all reviews
