Best Of The Best is unlike many of its YA counterparts because, while its arcs seem overly familiar, it comes through a relatively rare POV: two young women who have straddled being both South Asian and American, without bending who they truly are. Go to Full Review

No prizes for guessing where this is headed. But the comedy is whip-fast, with plenty of second-generation in jokes. Go to Full Review

At a time when even intentionally provocative genre films can’t keep up with the pace of futurism, Minhaj and Venkataramanujam also use their topical chops to make this bubbly effort particularly of the moment. Go to Full Review

With a strong cast, a well-paced story, high energy, and good jokes, Best of the Best makes for an engaging and highly enjoyable watch. It’s endearing and doesn’t take itself too seriously, all while knowing exactly what it’s going for. Go to Full Review
Puja Talwar The Federal Sep 30, 2026
A predictable, over-the-top coming-of-age comedy which sadly doesn't put a spring in the audience's step. More than anything, it feels out of touch with the lives of the Gen Z diaspora of Indian origin. Go to Full Review

It has its moments, a great playlist, a beautiful lead, and enough ridiculous scenes to provide accidental entertainment. It ultimately lands somewhere in the territory of a barely bearable one-time watch. Go to Full Review

Jeyaram B @RT88992601 2 days ago Best of the Best was such a good watch! The acting was excellent, and I really loved the representation. Mayatri was especially great, her performance was a real highlight for me, and she deserves so much praise for it. Really enjoyed it overall. A huge well done to Mayatri and the rest of the cast! Would definitely recommend watching. See more O I @Osam100 4 days ago Had so much potential, and I was really looking forward to this movie, especially because I loved Never Have I Ever. It’s great in places, with an amazing cast, but it lost me with the Koh-i-Noor diamond storyline. It just felt like unnecessary politics for no real reason, when they could easily have taken the story in another direction. For some reason, it really turned me off the movie from that point onward. I just didn’t think it needed it. But that’s just me, I guess! See more Patrick L @rottendoubt 4 days ago Very cute, sweet, and fun dance movie. I especially loved the dance scenes! Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Kedia did a great job. Hasan Minhaj was great too. It's like "Pitch Perfect" but for Bollywood dance. I never knew such competitions even existed in the States. Loved the music. Highly recommend! See more Greg N @SirRong 5 days ago Not only a fun watch, but a movie that makes the typical re-tread of themes still entertaining. Ramakrishnan walks away with almost every scene with her performance, which is deliciously meta given that her character’s central challenge is learning how to lead without outshining the team she’s supposed to elevate. See more beast N @beast778 6 days ago Simply it's not worth the hype, expected more from a Bollywood title. One of the worst movies I have ever watched. Bad jokes and bad actors. See more Puja M @Pujie 6 days ago This film had a great cast of upcoming actors/actresses. I didn't give it 5 stars because I thought it was a bit rushed. See more Read all reviews
