The ending is the most ddevastating ending i have ever seen See more Yossi S @RT40307701 Jul 24, 2026 This is an amazing movie about human nature. It is not a Holocaust movie, the author of the book, John Boyne, has admitted as much. John Boyne calls this a "Holocaust Fable". little research went into the book. No survivors were interviewed. John Boyne himself said that his movie should not be used to teach the Holocaust. This movie plays on the feelings of the audience to create sympathy for an SS Commandant. This alone should be a red flag to not watch this movie. There are so many actual survivor testimonies out there, obviously not enough because there were so few survivors, but enough child survivors to teach people, and children especially, about the Holocaust. Why watch a fable? If you need to teach your child about the Holocaust I would start by reading the Diary of Anne Frank. John Boyne profited by using the motif of the Holocaust to sell his fable. The creators of this movie did the same. Avoid watching this movie. See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 12, 2026 É um filme fortíssimo e muito emocionante. See more Jack S @JackSV Jul 12, 2026 This was an amazing but super sad movie. I watched it in my grade 8 socials class but when the movie ended my whole class just broke out into tears. See more Conrad C @sosopoptart Jun 10, 2026 The ending comes on rather suddenly, but it feels intentional. Performances are solid, even among the youngest stars. See more Read all reviews
