I quite liked it, for the performances, for its quick-witted script and for its subversion of the traditional crime drama.

Here, nearly everybody is trying too hard and when in doubt, they get raucous for want of something better to do. Even Janney is struggling.

Tate Taylor's film aims for the kind of quirky characters and spiralling crime story that was perfected in Fargo, but the result is pedestrian.

Taylor is living in the shadow of his influences here, which makes sense as he still can’t seem to figure out who he is as a filmmaker.

Shares its main character's instability until it falls apart completely, failing to mix broad attempts at humor with startling violence.

I do not understand the low ratings for this film. It was unusual for sure, but funny and clever with excellent performances. The script was well paced and it was refreshing to see such a strong female cast in a smart comedy. After seeing it I recommended it and praised it highly and everyone who watched it based on my recommendation absolutely loved it. Maybe it's an acquired taste or only appeals to a demographic who don't get online to write movie reviews! Anyway I recommend you ignore the haters and maybe discover a real hidden gem.

One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. I cannot for the life of me understand why this great cast volunteered to act in this. Almost everyone dies. Alison Janeys neurotic part wins? What? Why? Violent. Not comedy as proposed. Not even a little. And we paid to watch it. I want the two hours of my life I just wasted back.

Great cast and great acting. I thought it was very funny and one of my favorites. All star cast killed it.

Some might find this movie simple but it's hysterical. It keeps building on each character and you have to watch it It's hysterical.

Definitely worth a one time watch! I enjoyed this movie. It’s different for sure and has some funny/ridiculous moments that’ll give you a good laugh.
