06/16/2022 Obviously A Rally-Cry Film For Those Dealing With Navigating Their Sexuality, Which For All Teenagers Is A Tumultuous Time. The Let Down Here Is The Story Isn't Well Acted, Lots Of Novice Performances Create A Mixed Bag. It's No Aussie Castle, But It's Not A Low-Budget Write-Off Either. I listened to an interview with the director and I know that had almost no money to make this - and still it is so sweet and well written and made my heart so happy. A dead gay aunt who can't appear unless her relative admits she's gay. Creepy to the core. And the dead gay ghost of an aunt sees everything! Yikes! She's creeping on her underaged niece and trying to push her to get a girl. While it is satirical at times, the movie takes itself way too seriously. A few spots of humor that land prevents this from being a total disaster, but it ends up like so many other coming of age teen dramas. Final Score: 2.3/10 See more Read all reviews
