..Eyes of Laura Mars still slaps in 2025, largely because it’s the closest US cinema got to making a proper giallo; even if it’s not the cinematic game-changer intended, this is still a lot of fun to watch, glossy, self-aware and entertainingly trashy… Go to Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) Jan 18, 2024

Ed B @EdLee 3 days ago Eyes of Laura Mars, not a bad suspense thriller. Good acting by Fay Dunaway as lead character. One of the first films I recall Tommy Lee Jones, who’s fantastic in role of a police detective. Worth a watch. See more ALAN B @AlanOneness Sep 27, 2026 The film is interesting—not the best I’ve ever seen, but good enough to watch. It has plenty of great moments and a mystery you can try to solve as you watch. It depicts life in the 70s; for any LGBTQ+ person, it’s interesting to see how mainstream films portrayed us back then, how we were viewed, and what Oueer characters were allowed to say and do. See more Robert P @Superbad Sep 23, 2026 Eyes of Laura Mars = a *3* star Movie! See more Rafi M @RT61647557 Sep 6, 2026 For 1978, this movie was ahead of its time - it belongs more to the 'Pulp Fiction' era - for audiences then, it was 'too much,' and for audiences now, it seems dated. With Robert Altman style confused dialog and background chatter, and Tarantino-style violence, it tells an interesting story, with the unique concept of a woman seeing through the eyes of a woman-hating killer - who she accidentally falls in love with. Their relationship feels a bit tacked-on, but the ending is good. Great atmosphere of New York City at its grittiest. I wanted to like it because of Faye dunaway and Tommy lee jones but I didn't finish watching it. See more Read all reviews
