If it separates itself from more generic fare, it's because it focuses on a particular family and not on ten thousand different characters, and because it places great emphasis on the emotional tragedy they find themselves in. [Full review in Spanish].

This movie was so awful. The family acts entitled and was extremely selfish. I didn't find any redeeming characteristic for any of the main characters. The plot armor is thick with them. I can't believe they made a second film.

I expected more of a survival, struggle to reach the Greenland shelter. I was disappointed, not in the actors but in the writing and directing. It could of been so much better. I hope they learned from their mistakes and Greenland 2 will be more about survival, a struggle to achieve a goal to survive

63% — 1/19/26 Pretty mediocre overall. I liked the concept, but it never really clicked for me. It felt like a smaller, less exciting version of 2012—and 2012 wasn’t exactly great to begin with, though it was definitely more fun than this. The son is kind of a dud, and the whole subplot with random people kidnapping him was wild in a not-great way. I also didn’t love the late reveal that Gerard Butler’s character cheated and then just moved back in. Watching the couple reunite and work together was enjoyable, but that twist undercuts the emotional weight of their relationship. Still entertaining enough that I wouldn’t mind revisiting it. 2.5/5 rewatch.
