As the idea is no longer fresh and the plot has basically the same structure, it doesn't quite match the original. But the sequel delivers enough new developments to keep it interesting. Go to Full Review Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald Sep 5, 2008

The film is so even-handed and so diligent in its urge to offend that after a while I felt myself go numb. Go to Full Review Jim Schembri The Age (Australia) Sep 5, 2008

Amid the dick jokes, drug taking and gratuitous nudity, the film also serves as a salient reminder about what actually ranks as subversive comedy. Go to Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Dec 6, 2025

Many scenes aren’t exactly subtle, but they do point out the line that can barely divide satire from reality. Go to Full Review A.S. Hamrah n+1 Apr 26, 2018
When Harold and Kumar travel through a completely Bush-ified American South and then head to Amsterdam, the film's message couldn't be clearer. Go to Full Review Brian D. Johnson Maclean's Magazine Dec 15, 2017
It's hard to dislike this film, even though it's so patently lame. Cho and Pen have great chemistry. And they're so amiable and endearing on screen. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Jace T @CineChamber Sep 16, 2025 This is mostly a fun movie that can be laughed with and at, but is nothing compared to the original Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. Neil Patrick Harris is a legend in this film just like he is in the original as well. I'm not sure if it is the pacing, the way the jokes lay out, or just because I'm older now, but this film didn't hit like I had hoped. See more Rehan T @RT81460504 May 27, 2025 I think this was worse than the first one, they spent like 3 minutes in G bay and they named the entire movie after it... See more Alex S @RT61935749 Jan 24, 2025 The second Harold & Kumar film maintains the winning chemistry between Kal Penn and John Cho, as well as the hilarious stoner comedy moments that made the first movie so great. However, the sequel falls short of both surpassing the first one and establishing itself as a classic comedy. Definitely worth a watch and worth buying on Blu ray, but that first movie was just lightning in a bottle.
