Jasmine W @jasniquejewels Aug 31, 2026 this film was mind blowing a awesome assassin film. See more Andrew S @Malasita Jul 6, 2026 Classic film. Based on a manga. The film tones down the story from the manga but don’t let that make you think that the film is not extreme. See more Jordan P @JordanHPost May 12, 2026 It's definitely torture corn. The violence towards women is unforgiving and unforgivable. The story is all over the place. A lot of your typical Japanese criney weirdos dressed like space dweebs. Some things are stylish and interesting, but the intense unrelenting unnecessary violence towards females is uncalled for. It's for absolutely no reason at all. They will be attack brutally unprovoked. Terrible cgi. You think if you were a visionary film maker, you'd realize the technology was not there and avoid at all cost. Its classified as a horror? Don't know what to call a film where it's chalk full of grape and tortured. Idk what this is but it has something to say about brutality and hatred towards females irreverently. All involved in this film should be on a watch list. See more Justin T @RT08580778 Mar 3, 2026 This is a very violent and slightly confusing Japanese film. It is about one sick little boy and one sick gang leader. Stuff happens and there are lots of people killed and tortured spilling lots of blood. If that is your thing then you might like it but I do warn that a strong stomach is needed in many of the disgustingly violent scenes. Not as comic or entertaining as Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky (1991). Ichi is far more violent and overall less fun as it is really serious. See more Steve Y @Cubby65 Feb 27, 2026 Out of curiosity, I watched what is a brutal, stylish splattered. It's not my thing. See more Maksim S @MaksimusMovies Nov 12, 2025 Ichi the Killer is a provocative, audacious dive into the extremes of cinematic violence, where Takashi Miike’s signature style transforms gore into a cartoonishly exaggerated spectacle. The film’s over-the-top brutality often veers into black-comedy excess, making it more a darkly humorous carnival of chaos than purely gratuitous violence. However, while the stylized bloodletting and absurd fight sequences entertain with shocking inventiveness, the sexualized violence feels gratuitous and unnecessary, marring an otherwise audacious narrative. Despite this, the film’s audacity, kinetic energy, and fearless visual inventiveness make it a memorable, if deeply unsettling, experience—a 3.5-star cult classic that rewards viewers willing to navigate its extreme terrain.
