Kevin P @RT55971421 Jul 20 An awesome sequel that ups the stakes with insane stunts and pranks that go back and forth between painfully unwatchable and hilarious cartoon slapstick that'll make you bust out laughing. It's impressive how these are all real stunts and how much risk the main crew took when enduring so much pain and danger for our amusement. I love the insane running of the bulls opening. The other stunts are creative too. All topped of with an insane ending multiple stunts finale. It's a great crude work of art and arguably my favorite of the trilogy. Even in a first time watch nearly two decades after its release, you can just feel how much these idiots impacted the cultural zeitgeist. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there is an amount of respect owed to these people who go to outlandish lengths in the name of comedy and art. One could argue they’ve grown a sort of overeliance on animals to keep their comedic presence alive, but another could argue that it’s an intentional stylistic choice that furthers the art form. Obviously many ethical questions arise from that, and I don’t have a clue how these animals were treated off camera, but to me it feels cheap and lazy to use these sort of unpredictable assets as a crutch in your comedy. The TV show, the movies, all of it. Is it a "good" film in the traditional sense? Not really. But within its genre, it's an absolute classic. They simply don't make stuff like this anymore. Pure, dumb, chaotic entertainment that somehow still works just as well today as it did back then. What a ride.
