The saving grace of John Dies at the End is undoubtedly its manic storytelling: the energy and pacing of scenes give the movie the impression of being told on the spot (which is of course what the framing device intends).

It’s a very decent watch; extremely goofy! Definitely not for everyone, but if you’re good to go with a trippy sci-fi that’s dumb fun, you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

Another day, another movie others have rated poorly, and I cannot comprehend why. I'm not much into sci-fi, yet this movie's blend of sci-fi, horror, thriller, and comedy work. I definitely recommend this.
