Hired by Martin (Meg Foster), the head of a major corporation, a crew including geologist Steven Beck (Peter Weller) descends to the ocean's depths for a mining project. When the undersea explorers find a sunken ship and investigate, they inadvertently bring a malevolent life form on board their vessel. The creature kills some crew members and causes them to mutate, resulting in a battle for survival against an unknown force far below the surface of the ocean.

The film is so horrible, a highly derivative, low-effort mash-up of superior sci-fi horror films like Alien and The Thing, featuring a nonsensical, rushed ending, I would NEVER recommend this movie, not even to my own bloodline

I get the low reviews from reviewers who only see it as a rip off of the Thing and Alien, but it’s exactly like them, minus the first totally slow beginning. Great practical effects just like those flicks too.

It has an ambitious production, so I’ll give the director and producers an A for effort. And the B-list actors are pretty solid, despite one of them having the name “Sixpack.” But overall I’ll give it a D+.
