David 6 days ago Such a good time to see this again as an adult with my lil brother and putting him on to this absolute classic See more gibran carrillo Oct 19, 2025 When this movie first came out in theaters I did not watch it in theaters unfortunately. I regretted not going to see it in the big screen as a kid. Now as an adult, finally getting the opportunity was GREAT. This movie really is GREAT and it gave me so much nostalgia. I loved it then and love it now. Class or possibly even a masterpiece!!! See more Ann Oct 16, 2022 It was honestly a really good movie overall it just felt like we was back being little watching this movie See more Ethan G @ethdrew05226 4 days ago I rewatched Monster House yesterday, and I had seen it years ago, so I gotta tell you: whoever got that kid to act in this role stole the show. My God, whoever did the voice acting for Chowder must be one of the funniest dudes I’ve ever heard. I was seriously impressed. I’d rate it 10/10. 💀🔥🎬 See more king 9 @RT43399795 Sep 19, 2026 It use to scare me as a kid but now it's very fun See more Marco L @decatur555 Sep 9, 2026 This is a terrific gateway into horror for younger viewers: funny, fast-moving, genuinely creepy, and smart enough not to treat children like idiots. Gil Kenan turns the wonderful central idea — a haunted house that is literally alive — into an inventive children's horror adventure, using doors, windows, stairs, and rooms as parts of the creature itself. The motion-capture animation looks slightly uncanny today, but that actually suits the atmosphere. DJ, Chowder, and Jenny are likable, the comedy works, and the scares are strong enough to excite children without overwhelming them. It even finds some unexpected sadness beneath the fun. Not revolutionary, but enormously enjoyable and easy to recommend. Every budding horror fan under fourteen should see it. See more Read all reviews
